Is Maid to Clean an approved NDIS Cleaning Service?

Maid to Clean proudly works with over 100 NDIS providers and plan managers across Melbourne. We are an unregistered provider under the NDIS, which means participants whose plans are plan-managed or self-managed are free to book with us — and Maid to Clean is a preferred choice for many.

We understand the specific needs, preferences, and processes involved in NDIS support and have built strong, ongoing relationships with participants, families, coordinators, and plan managers across Melbourne.

Can I use my NDIS funding for house cleaning?

House cleaning is funded under Core Supports budget, in the category “Assistance with Daily Life – Household Tasks”. If your plan includes funding for household tasks and is plan-managed or self-managed, you can use it for regular or one-off cleaning with Maid to Clean.

Please check your plan first — we don’t have access to your plan, and some tasks sit under different funding categories that may not be covered, such as deep cleaning or steam cleaning. If you’re unsure, ask your plan manager or support coordinator before booking.

How does payment work for NDIS cleans?

For plan-managed participants, we invoice your plan manager directly — you never pay upfront or handle paperwork.

Self-managed participants pay by credit card, and after payment we email you an itemised invoice so you can submit it for reimbursement through your NDIS participant portal or app.

Is there a minimum booking time?

Yes — our minimum service duration is 2 hours. Beyond that, you can book whatever length suits your needs and funding.

I’m NDIA-managed (agency-managed). Can I still book?

Unfortunately not at this stage — NDIA-managed participants can only use NDIS-registered providers. If your plan management type changes at your next plan review, we’d love to help. In the meantime, we’re happy to point you toward alternatives.

Will I have the same cleaner each visit?

Wherever possible, yes. We assign a dedicated regular cleaner to our NDIS clients, so you see a familiar face who knows your home and routine. If your cleaner is ever away, we’ll let you know in advance and arrange a suitable replacement — never a surprise at the door.

Can a support coordinator or family member book on my behalf?

Absolutely. We regularly take bookings and referrals from support coordinators, plan managers, family members, and carers. Simply complete our online referral form with the participant’s details and service needs, and we’ll take it from there.

Do you provide service agreements?

Yes — our booking form serves as the service agreement, so there’s no extra paperwork to chase. If you’d like a separate formal service agreement or written quote for a plan review, we’re happy to issue one on request.

Are your cleaners insured?

Yes – absolutely. At Maid to Clean, insurance and safety are a top priority:

– Our employee cleaners are covered by WorkCover Insurance and our $20 million public liability insurance, covering accidental damage to property.

– Our contractor cleaners each carry their own $20 million public liability insurance.

You can feel confident knowing that when you book with Maid to Clean, you’re in safe and responsible hands.

Can you accommodate the cleaning service to my specific needs?

Yes – absolutely! Our hourly rate services are 100% flexible, meaning we can tailor the clean exactly to your needs and preferences.

Whether you’d like us to focus on particular areas (like the kitchen, bathroom, or floors), tackle more challenging tasks (like ovens or shower grout), or even assist with general tidying and organising, we’re here to help. You set the priorities, and we’ll follow your instructions to make the most of the time booked.

This includes NDIS-specific needs like communication preferences and working alongside your support workers or carers. If you’d prefer we use specific products of your own, that’s no problem — just make sure they’re safe to use and clearly labelled.

Do you service my area?

We service most suburbs across Melbourne, typically within a 30–40km radius of the CBD. If you’re unsure whether we cover your location, you can check our detailed service area map on our Where We Clean page.

If your suburb is just outside our standard range, feel free to contact us — in many cases, we may still be able to assist depending on availability.

Do you provide your own cleaning supplies and equipment?

Yes – we bring all the necessary supplies and equipment for our general cleaning services, so you don’t need to worry about a thing.

If you’d prefer we use your own cleaning products instead, just ensure they’re safe to use and clearly labelled — this keeps everyone safe and avoids any damage.

The only exception is ironing, where we kindly ask that you provide your own iron and ironing board, as these requests are less common and vary from home to home.

What do I need to provide?

It’s simple! All we need you to provide is:

– Access to the property – either by being home to let us in or safely leaving a key or access code.

– Power – so we can operate equipment like vacuums and ensure proper lighting.

– Water (ideally hot) – for effective cleaning, especially in kitchens and bathrooms.
