Our Charity

Who do we send out?

We work in teams of 1/2/3 people. Normally we will assign solo cleaners to smaller jobs and the larger teams to spring cleans and end of lease cleans. We have found that when cleaners work together regularly they often end up being more efficient that when working independently – the cleaners can play to their strengths!

We understand that the people who come to your home and provide your service really matter. We carefully select every one of our cleaners and make sure they are capable of providing the extremely high level of service we expect.

We generally only send cleaners with 2-3+ years of experience, are all English speaking, police checked, reference checked, fully equipped, professional and to top it all off, fun and friendly too.

Check out some of our team at our recent get together at Fitzroy Bowls Club – February 2022.

Meet the Team

Edward Clayton, Maid To Clean Founder

Edward Clayton

Owner/Director

I’m an English ex-engineer who fell in love with Melbourne while studying abroad and decided to call it home permanently in 2013. My parents always nurtured two things in me – an entrepreneurial spirit and the importance of a good work ethic. I’ve taken both these lessons to heart and integrated them in to the business ethos at Maid to Clean.

My role in Maid to Clean is split between supporting our office team through optimising and improving our systems and secondly, continually growing and building the business. Aside from managing Maid to Clean, I enjoy keeping myself busy with a range of activities including basketball, golf, tennis, beach volleyball (weather permitting), catching up with friends and of course, plenty of relaxing and watching Netflix!

Tomasz

General Manager

I'm an environmental engineer who decided to leave his faculty and develop skills in communication and planning. I have several years of experience in customer service and marketing, as well as engineering. I have always enjoyed working with numbers and solving problems, and I'm not afraid of fast-changing circumstances or everyday challenges. After 27 years of living and studying in Poland, I moved to Norway, where I spent almost three years. While the snow and starry night skies were beautiful, I eventually swapped my heavy boots for thongs and moved to Australia in 2019 to enjoy the sunny weather.

As General Manager, my goal is to ensure everyone feels heard and supported. I aim to create an amazing experience for all of our customers while fostering an enjoyable and safe work environment for our staff.

Outside of work, I'm a huge animal lover, and spending time at local zoos helps me unwind. Saturday mornings are reserved for beach walks, and I usually head to local spots like Thirteenth Beach or Bells Beach, grabbing an oat milk flat white from Torquay on the way. When it's rainy, you can find me binge-watching my favorite shows or playing strategic games.

Bronie

Scheduling Manager

Before I joined the Maid to Clean team, I was a Dental Assistant/receptionist for 16 years. In this 16 years, I got married and now have 3 very cheeky children keeping me busy in any of my spare time.

As the Scheduling Manager my role is to support the Scheduling team to create top notch schedules for our cleaning teams. I aim to help the team optimize the efficiency of the schedules while creating a supportive and welcoming environment for our cleaning teams.

Outside of Maid to Clean, I am a Mum of 3 kids - ages 3, 6 and 8. These guys keep me super busy with after school and weekend activities, however in my "spare" time I enjoy a game of tennis, a drink of red wine, and a nice cheese platter.

Vanessa

Operations Manager

While my background may not be the usual customer service based roles, it does not dampen my passion for helping others. My past careers are a mixture of medical research, where I was able to work with a large variety of animals for almost ten years and personal training. I am also not shy in lending a hand volunteering, completing over ten years across SES and the RSPCA.

My role at Maid to Clean is the Operations Manager. I help assist and guide the Operations team with actioning customer and contractor requests for same-day issues, as well as accurately maintaining and updating multiple data systems. This position has me heavily involved in resolving customer concerns, to achieve the highest level of customer and cleaner satisfaction.

Outside of work my time is spent running after my toddler and spending time with friends and family. My husband and I have recently built our forever home, so we spend most weekends working outside on our landscaping.

Natalie

Senior Scheduling Assistant

Since the moment I was old enough to work, I’ve lived and breathed customer service. For almost 15 years I have had an extensive background in customer service, administration and management roles. My past career opportunities have taught me many valuable lessons in which has been embedded in my work ethic. I do believe one of the most important things in life is truly being satisfied and proud of where you work, which I am so grateful for is what I get from being part of the team here at Maid to Clean.

As the a Senior Scheduling Assistant, I work closely with the Scheduling team to ensure all work is assigned to our incredible cleaning teams in the most effective manner, ensuring we meet not only their requirements but those of our customers too. This involves working with large amounts of information, being able to multitask effectively and having strong attention to detail.

I am a big ‘family’ person and any spare moment I can grasp is usually spent with them. I have the most beautiful nieces and nephew one could ask for. I truly feel lucky to have the husband, family and friends that I do, and I cannot wait to have little kiddos of my own one day!

Pelin

Senior Operations and Customer Service Assistant

My background is in customer service, administration and scheduling in the construction, electrical and solar sector.

At Maid to Clean I have taken on complaint resolution and continued my work in customer service within the Operations Team.

In my free time I like reading, spending time with family, cooking and going on nature walks. I’m an avid zoo attendee and every year my husband gifts me a membership for Christmas. I live in the country and love leading a quiet life, and am hoping to start a hobby farm/native wildlife rescue in the future.

Raunak

Recruitment Consultant

I possess extensive experience in cross-cultural functions within engineering and personnel management. I started contributing as a recruitment consultant to pursue my passion as a people’s person. My motivation and drive come with connecting and supporting people to find promising careers opportunities. I leverage the power of data-driven decisions and incorporate them into my practices as a recruiter to create lasting and magical experiences.

I am engaged as a Recruitment Consultant at Maid to Clean. I enjoy supporting my team by hiring excellent cleaning professionals for greater customer satisfaction and retention across Melbourne. The process to identify the right staff and bring them onboard motivates and keeps me engaged and committed.

I strongly believe in destiny and always strive for new adventures. My life outside of work is a stress buster that positively influences my work. I love cooking new recipes. I have a love for dancing which was discovered since I was a year old and, it still continues.

Kerry

Cleaning Quality Agent

If you see it needs to be done, then approach it with courage, integrity and excellence...the result will astound you. This has been my approach to everything throughout my life and in particular my career choices. Ranging from Nursing, Ambulance EMD, Gymnastics Coach, Barista, Customer Service, and of recent, Trainer/QCA with Maid To Clean. Throughout my life, l have always been drawn to random acts of kindness and find enjoyment in making a difference in people's lives. With this as my core being, l always found myself providing assistance within friend's and family's homes. Maybe it's the OCD in me, but l was, and still am, compelled to "fixing/cleaning" other people's issues they have in their homes.

Having moved to Melbourne in 2018 with my family, l approached Maid To Clean with the intention to be a casual cleaner and a stay at home mum. Maid To Clean facilitated this but it wasn't too long before my work was recognised as exceptional and the demand for my services increased. Having the acknowledgment, support and encouragement from the team at Maid To Clean certainly made settling into my busier schedule really easy. It soon became apparent that my knowledge and skills were needed in a more defined approach. It was then decided that offering a training program to potential cleaning teams and assessing all current cleaning teams was to be my fortea. I have not looked back and absolutely love my job.

Life outside Maid To Clean consists of myself, my husband, seven children, two grandchildren, and a menagerie of animals....dogs, cat, rabbit, chickens. My most prized indulgence is my cup of tea in the morning before the craziness of the day sets in. We enjoy bike riding, long walks, cooking, and tending to our new veggie garden....thanks COVID!!

Steve

Scheduling Assistant

I have spent the past 15 years of my career providing excellent customer service and stakeholder support using my technical, personal & communication skills for multiple companies both large and small. They have covered industries such as media & advertising, financial institutions as well as federal government entities. After a pretty hectic year in my career due to the pandemic I was seeking a new and exciting opportunity to grow and develop my skills further, which was what led me to joining the team here at Maid to Clean.

My role at Maid to Clean as an Scheduling Assistant is to make sure that all our bookings from our customers are assigned to the most relevant and suitable cleaning teams. We also work closely with our cleaning teams to assist them with their schedules or with any queries or requests they may have, as well as assisting our customers with any requirements they may have regarding their service to ensure that we are able to provide the best experience possible.

Outside of work I enjoy being quite active when I can. I am heavily involved in multiple sporting communities, playing and coaching baseball as well as being involved in a tenpin bowling league. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing video games or just relaxing with a good movie or book, as I’m a Marvel buff since I was a child.

Clare

Sales Leader

I was born and raised in Melbourne's Bayside area, and although having travelled extensively, I have spent my whole life here in Melbourne. I've always loved working in customer service and over the years I've worked in many different industries. I've studied analogue photography, psychology and counselling and I've also enjoyed working in the tea industry.

My role at Maid To Clean as a Sales leader is to engage with you, the customer and help find the right service to suit your needs. Our lives can be so busy, so we're here to provide an excellent cleaning service so that you can focus on what's most important for you. We take pride in giving our customers exceptional service from start to finish and always providing a top-notch experience.

Outside of MTC, I love playing with my adorable cat, Mr. Honeyman, seeing friends and family and playing all kinds of video games. I'll probably be brewing myself a super delicious pot of oolong tea as well!

Jessica

Scheduling Assistant

I have spent the majority of my working career in the Science Field, working mainly as an Analytical Chemist. Whilst completing my Bachelor of Science degree I worked part-time as an Allocations Consultant for a Nationwide Nursing Agency. This is where I discovered my passion for Customer Service and Scheduling.
I have now returned to what I enjoy doing the most, delivering exceptional customer service to both our customers and cleaning teams.

At Maid to Clean my role is Scheduling Assistant. The main objective is to ensure that all our bookings are assigned to the most suitable cleaning teams and that the teams scheduled day runs smoothly and efficiently. We also offer support to our cleaning teams through our Buddy System. I play an integral role in welcoming our new teams to MTC and follow up with them regularly to provide support.

Outside of Maid to Clean I am a mother of three spirited children. Although most of my time is consumed by raising my tribe with my husband, I try and take time out for myself. I enjoy reformer pilates, going for walks and girl's weekends away!

Maria

Recruitment Assistant

Almost the whole of my career life is about providing exceptional customer service. I've been in this industry for many years and have handled accounts such as Telco, Retail, and Healthcare. Needless to say, answering phone calls, responding to emails or chat messages, and providing support through various communication channels have always been an area of my expertise and understanding.

Fast forward to now, I work as a Billing and Recruitment Assistant at Maid to Clean. With billing, I am responsible for processing and managing financial transactions, as well as ensuring that all billing information is correct and up-to-date. As a recruiter, my main role is to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth by hiring and interviewing candidates, using my skills in communication, negotiation and relationship-building.

Overall, I am thankful and grateful for the roles that I have handled and currently handling, but my favorite role is being a mom to my 2 kids - my bundles of joy. Being with them/my family is my kind of quality time.

Jasmin

Bookkeeping and Accounts

I started my career in accounting for healthcare right after I got my degree in Accountancy. Later, I jumped in the construction industry where I worked for an international company which was at the time, building the largest international airport in the Philippines. This has honed my skills and gave me tremendous insights in doing financial reports, filing of taxes, and auditing. When this project was completed, I decided to enter the world of Business Process Outsourcing as a bookkeeper of a lending company in Utah.

As a bookkeeper of Maid to Clean, I record daily transactions such as income and expenses, creating client invoices, reconciling accounts, processing payments and employee payroll using the company’s accounting system.

Outside of work, I can be found listening to podcasts, watching true crime documentaries, going on road trips with my family and friends, exploring new places, and trying out different restaurants - we’re big foodies!

Mary

Sales Assistant

Before joining Maid to Clean, I gained extensive experience in customer service and management. I worked for a telecommunications company as a Sales Consultant for five years, which sharpened my communication skills and ability to work under pressure. I then transitioned into a Call Center Manager role at a locksmith company, where I handled inbound calls and dispatched technicians. My experience working remotely with a healthcare provider also helped me develop strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

At Maid to Clean, I work as an Admin Assistant and Sales Consultant. My role involves managing cancellations and responding to customer sales inquiries. I enjoy helping clients find the right solutions for their cleaning needs. Working here has allowed me to further enhance my multitasking abilities and attention to detail.

Outside of work, I cherish spending quality time with my little one. Being a parent is a central part of my life, and we make the most of our time together. When I have a bit of personal time, I love to unwind by watching series or immersing myself in the world of K-dramas.

Mapa

Operations and Customer Service Assistant

I moved from New Zealand almost 10 years ago and now call Melbourne home! I have worked in customer service since I turned 18, working in call centres to retail stores in all types of industries.

At Maid to Clean I work in the operations team from complaints to replying to text messages as well as emails. and picking up the phone to speak with customers.

If I am not work you will find me finding the next best restaurant to eat at, binging a Kdrama or two or planning my next trip overseas.

Odelle

Billing and Customer Service Assistant

Before joining Maid to Clean, I spent 10 years as a homemaker. Prior to that, I worked in the customer service industry, primarily in the financial sector, for nearly 13 years. During that time, I gained experience in inbound upselling, outbound cross-selling, email correspondence, and payment maintenance. I also led teams handling escalated calls, conducted training sessions, participated in call calibrations, and monitored calls to ensure quality. I also earned my Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, which enhanced my ability to improve processes and boost efficiency.

At Maid to Clean, I get to connect with our customers, checking in with them to make sure they had a great experience and helping with any questions or concerns they might have. My main goal is to make sure our clients feel heard and happy with the service.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family. As a mom and wife, I enjoy learning new hobbies—whether it’s crocheting, watching tarot readings, singing karaoke, or catching up on Netflix shows. I believe life is all about enjoying the little things.

Eleni

Operations and Customer Service Assistant

My career in customer service started in 2012 on a working holiday in Vancouver. While working at 1-800-GOT-JUNK, I discovered a passion for operations and process improvement. I have a degree in Primary Education, which gave me valuable insights, but wasn't what I wanted to do long-term.

I have a deep appreciation for the importance of cleaning and believe it often goes unrecognised. As part of the Operations Team, I help keep everything running smoothly - communicating with customers and cleaners, solving problems, providing speedy resolutions and constantly looking for ways we can improve.

When I’m not working, I love going on road trips and watching movies. I combined these two interests when I went to the U.S. to visit all of the 'Stand By Me' filming locations, including the train dodge bridge - which was a highlight of my life!

We need to be reliable and consistent in the way we deal with each other too

Maid to Clean's Anti-Discrimination Policy

Maid to Clean encourages the principles of equal opportunity, non-discrimination and anti-harassment at all times. We promote this policy by making it a requirement from our managers, our staff, our contractors and even our customers.

Over time we have found that we are often faced with requests from customers concerning the personal background of our cleaning teams including nationality, race and age. Often, these requests stem from bad prior experiences for that customer and unfortunately, but understandably, have affected the customers outlook on that particular type of person.

At Maid to Clean we are proud to work with people from all different kinds of backgrounds and from all over the world. We strongly believe that a person’s background does not dictate their skills, work-ethic or professionalism and we have top-performing workers from every kind of different background. We have strict requirements for all our cleaning teams, including speaking English, having great communication skills, exceptional cleaning skills, a clean police record and more. We believe in awarding merit and tangible skills and we implore our customers to do the same.

If you have had a bad experience with a person from a particular background in the past, we ask for you not to let this affect your outlook on all people of a similar background and to trust us as a business to always do our best to provide you the best suitable cleaning team.

Maid to Clean's Gender Neutral Policy

Building on our anti-discrimination policy, Maid to Clean supports the movements of gender equality and gender neutrality within the workplace and throughout life. We are committed to never allowing a person’s gender to have an effect on their opportunities and success within our business.

We are fortunate to live in a time where equality and stereotypes are gradually being worn away. One of these stereotypes unfortunately is that females are more experienced in certain roles such as house chores and house cleaning, while the male in the relationship would go out to work. We’re proud to say that the Maid to Clean team is made up of a balance of both male and female cleaners, all of which are highly capable or meeting and exceeding the high standards we set. The hard work our teams do every day help to disprove this old-fashioned stereotype and we are hopeful it soon becomes a feature of the past, not the present.

With the above in mind, we urge all our customers to remember that the gender of our cleaning teams does not have an influence on their ability to perform our services at the highest standard, and we ask that requests for certain gendered staff members are avoided when they are motivated by the desire for a high quality service.
